Treatments for dental trauma and deep caries
In case of deep caries or dental trauma
Dr. Lenci, at his dental clinic in Naples, deals with dental root therapy.
Root canal treatments
The dental pulp is the tissue that contains the blood vessels and nerve tissue of the tooth. The dental pulp is located in the canal that flows inside the tooth and extends through the root canal to the apex of the root.
When the tooth is damaged by:
• trauma;
• deep caries.
Bacteria can attack the pulp by penetrating inside the tooth. In this case, inflammation is created, often very painful (the so-called pulpitis) which leads to the loss of vitality of the tooth.
In these cases it is necessary for the dentist to intervene with root canal treatments otherwise there is a risk of tooth abscess.
Even in asymptomatic cases (in which there is no painful manifestation) the toxins of the bacteria can damage the supporting bone, causing the loss of the tooth in the most serious cases.
Dr. Lenci intervenes for any type of dental emergency.
Caries treatment
Root canal treatments are the less invasive the sooner the caries is eliminated, which starting from the external surface of the tooth continues its journey to create a cavity. If not stopped in time, caries can damage the pulp of the tooth.
In case of accidents, the trauma caused to the teeth can damage the dental pulp, even in this case root canal therapies are used.
